He was nearly skipping through the flowers, full of energy and happiness like if he was a pup again. He twirled on a back foot just in time to see Adonia catch up with him, and the two of them trotted side by side, her mouthing at the toy and at him. Being close to her felt good and he relented and pushed the stuffed animal into her maw; he wanted her to be happy because he was happy; this has been first time he had been so happy in a long time, it was very freeing.
Once his mouth was free, he reached over to grab one of her tufted ears and tugged on it a little bit before moving down to mouth the side of her mouth and licking there. The Alpha let out a whine, it was both playful but also a bit pleading, as if he wanted her to do something. He knew what he wanted to do to her, but he would not push that far into the danger zone yet, he wanted to see how she would react to him. They had both just recently lost mates, but what was done was down; both of their partners had chosen another life over themselves, yet they had remained.
Zalen had become a bachelor at a lucky time in New Dawn’s history; females outnumbered the males nearly two to one, though a handful of those weren’t of a breeding condition. But Adonia was, and this excited Zalen to the core; it was a different excitement than he had felt with Titania, a more dangerous one, and a more enjoyable one, in a way. He growl at her a little bit, to make sure he had her attention, "You’re… lovely." He said, almost as if it had been the wind that had said it.
