He saw the orange dog recognize that he was there, although more slowly than a normal wolf or dog would - he had turned towards him almost too late, although Element was not being sneaky or silent by any means. Perhaps he was hard of hearing? Either way, Element retained his composure as recognition sparked in the dog's mind; perhaps he didn't see many cats, and recognized Element as one.

The dog reached out towards Element, and the sable shaded feline tensed, preparing to run away. However, he was met with a pleasant, scratching sensation behind his ears, and Element relaxed once more. He began to purr, moving closer to the canine who could scratch where Element could not, rubbing his back against his arm.
