Her new Optio rank gave her more precedence in the Clan, but also gave her more responsibility within the Clan. It was this fact that left Sepirah on the borders of the Clan, patrolling for any danger as well as keeping track of the skulls. A bout of wind had knocked one of the skulls from its pike, and so when she had replaced it with much effort, she noticed that some of the other skulls were looking a bit crooked, or otherwise not as pristine as the Clan should have liked.

An hour or so later, the skulls were looking better - cleaned from Sepirah's cloth, they were no longer dusty and sandy, and were also no longer crooked, she thought proudly, as she straightened the last pike. She stood back from the borders, admiring the gruesome and dark display that lined the Inferni borders, warning any and all who would dare enter uninvited. Her serpentine friend was more active this day, twining itself around her arm and shoulder, giving various hissing sounds every few minutes.

After a rest, she took up the post again, patrolling once more with her dagger in hand. It was her home now, her home that she would not abandon or leave - she would not be accepted, would not truly belong, if she did not stay with her home and protect it. It was that thought that drove her to pursue her duties even more than before, taking great care to guard Inferni and help it obtain useful information as much as she could before the cold weather set in and hindered her performance.
