Adonia melted before him, but soon found her footing again. She was submissive, as always, but also anxious and excited, he could see it in her eyes. He was very aware of every twitch of her muscles, and so when she untucked her tail he nearly made his moth. But the look her blue eyes shot him told him to stay away, it wasn’t time yet, she wasn’t ready. Zalen drew back his lips and flicked his tongue over large white teeth; he would give her a moment, but that was all.
Stepping away he made to circle the area, sniffing. He would not let anyone interrupt them, it was a private moment. If anyone came upon them, he would attack him; male female, friend foe, it didn’t matter. The Alpha scent marked several trees, a pungent odor that said ‘stay clear’. He then turned to look at Adonia, and his face softened, his tail dropping ever so slightly and swaying in a calm wag, You are… alright with this? He needed to ask, to make sure her feelings, and also to solidify his. Adonia, had she been a little wiser, a little more experienced, he might have taken her on as a mate then and there. But the idea of making children with her was the second best choice; she would be protected, cared for, and would help to make New Dawn a more prosperous pack.
Moving to her side again, Zalen nuzzled the female gently, and planted several licks on her chin to reassure her. He would be as gentle as any wolf could be, them being in Lupus would make things easier and more natural. But he knew that they would be tied together for a time, and that might frighten her, but he had learned to be calm until it passed.
Becoming anxious again, Zalen let out a whine and gave her the saddest eyes known to wolf-kind.
