The Sound of Silence

The lousiness of his abilities was only because he had never taken down a Badger before, he often would take down squirrels and very rarely, because this animal showed more emotion, deer. The luperci could recall the first time he had taken down a deer, he didn't eat any of the deer because he hated the scared look on it's face and didnt want to do anymore damage to it. He felt guilty. But now wasn't the time to feel guilty, he knew this as he saw the coyote seemed to be angry with how poorly he was hunting at the large rodent. Edgar decided to try harder so that he wouldn't walk away looking like a wimp to yet another person. The Badger began to take off, the dog speedily dashed after it and surprised the animal by pouncing at it from the side and biting them there. This time he didn't wait for the coyote to attack next, he would learn to cope with the pain during this hunt. Edgar pinned the animal down and bit down on the front part of it's neck, resulting in a long scratch on his chest that was very painful. The boy continued to hold down the animal by the neck, increasing the pressure of his bite, as he began to wonder if the stranger was even following anymore. Had he left him to kill the animal on his own? He hoped not, because this rodent wouldn't be very easy to kill on his own.
