The Sound of Silence
#24
Despite the dog's words about being hungry earlier he didn't dig in, both simply standing there. Raoth snorted, a little bit angry at the thought of wasting a corpse in such a way. Well after the dog left Raoth would have no problem digging in and taking his fill. He just didn't want anyone to see him eat. A sudden flurry freaked the coyote out, baring his teeth and snapping down at her. She didn't seem to mind in the least, begging to the other male for food. Raoth watched in surprise as the meat was regurgitated the same it would be for a pup and eaten by the goose. They ate meat?

Now the dog began to eat in earnest, choking it down and being almost as messy as Raoth without his tongue was. He grinned widely at the show of thanks, sitting back with pleasure as he watched. It took some time with the stranger digging through. Neither of them had really made any noise the entire time, though Raoth had seen that the other had a tongue. He was curious to why, but didn't push it. Looking up he realized how long he'd been gone, and broke into a run. What if Aro had been hurt while he'd been out? He had to hurry back. Raoth didn't look back even once as he ran off, the need to return to his master greater than anything he might feel towards the dog he'd hunted with.
