The growl turned Amy back, looking at him in surprise. She just wanted a drink, nothing wrong with that. True, usually she didn't break off from such passion. Amy wasn't about to explain herself though. Her reasons were her own. Telling him that she had a kid was the last thing she wanted to do. Amy didn't acknowledge it herself half the time, even when Lucias was in her arms. She stayed in the water, gazing at him calmly as he moved past. The rage was sweet, intoxicating as it rose off him. There were so many reasons why she was drawn to him. His passion, his similarity to her, his fierce loyalty and the fact that she could count on him, simply because she was attractive to him. It was a good thing that she was. Amy didn't trust that he wouldn't leave her if he found someone better.
The level of his violence was surprising, more than she had seen before. Shocked she stared at him, wondering what was going on. Why was he so angry? What had stirred this deep violence? The name gave her pause. Amy studied the dog before him, his angry dominance. That was Fang, wasn't it? The Fang that she had known so well. That was Fang she was drawn to, not the weaker half, not Toby. No. She stepped forwards, placing a hand on the scar on his chest. You can't be. You're Fang. My Fang. He wouldn't lose to Toby. He wouldn't leave her. He wasn't able to.
