She had realized the full swing of this female burden after her encounter with Zalen. He was a handsome man, but she couldn't help but feel this was ripping Ookami from her more and more. Yes, she ended a mateship, but the tenderhearted wolfdog still had hopes Ookami would change and she could rely on the cream pelted male. Her pelt had the scent of Zalen still on it, the scent laced heavy in her pelt and she almost felt shy about it, but she knew if she washed away the alpha's scent that he might be offended. Still it didn't stop her from walking through the deep end of the creek that bubbled through the upper half of the territory.
Adonia was still a little on the thin side but she was slowly getting her weight back to normal through her favorite prey; fish. It was also an excuse for dampening Zalen's scent from her pelt. It was an honor that the alpha was interested in her but Adonia was still a little shy about it. How could she feel guilty like she was cheating when there was no one to be cheating on? Still, she needed to keep telling herself she was a single female. She had no mate. Was Zalen interested in having her as a mate? Or was he just excited by her scent?
A large bass came swimming upstream and Adonia's muzzle launched into the stream soaking her entire coat washing away most of Zalen's scent leaving her's to dominate her body. Only small hints of the ebony king on her pelt now as she reemerged from the stream's waters. Her thin frame more evident now that her silky coat was soaked. Her last two ribs showing, and her hip bones slightly protruded from her body. She didn't look sickly at all, but just on the thin side.
The dark colored female laid down on the grassy edge, her flapping bass in her jaws. Putting her paws down firmly on the slippery fish, she began to tear into him eating bit by bit of the fish. Bones and all.
