His ears flattened to his skull as the alpha's scent reached him, cutting through the thick perfume. The snarl that followed told Tharin what he'd known, and chosen to ignore. He was not allowed to mate without the alpha's permission. A basic rule, one he'd almost broken. As rapidly as he could he pushed himself off Adonia, but he still wasn't quick enough. A full speed tackle smacked him hard, Tharin skidding across the ground as Zalen cried out his rage.
Faster than he'd been hit Tharin rolled onto his back. His belly was fully exposed, stretching out. His tail was tucked, but kept out of the way if Zalen wished to kill the foolish wolf. Whining pathetically Tharin stared out past Zalen, hoping that his submission would be enough to have him spared. He should have known better than to try.
