His tail thumped the ground as if it were a drum, but her soft gaze held a question, and so he righted himself onto his stomach to answer it.
For a moment, everything about him was silent; he just laid on his front, arms in front of him as he looked out over the woodland area they were in. It was peaceful here, and quiet. Zalen had been so used to the constant hum of the ocean that the absence of it was somewhat jarring. His black nose twitched as he examined the scents; they were of the norm, besides the beautiful woman sitting beside him, who smelled amazing.
The dark Alpha then let out a long, heavy sigh, and decided it was time to break the spell of the natural language; there was just too much to explain, and his body could only say so much. Though a part of him wept for the disappearance of his former mate, the rest of him was angry, and frustrated.
