OOC: Shaw be in the optime yay
He was a failure. She’d panicked when they came to a spot he was sure he knew. However it happened she ran as fast as she could away from the forest of New Dawn and Shawchert could not follow. He spent time looking for her, took a day to look but she was hiding herself far better than he would expect. She was gone to him and he would come back empty handed. Shawchert came home only due to his hunger than anything else. He would go searching for her again, but he must establish himself in the pack because he could see in Zalen that he wasn’t going to continue his search for her. Shawchert would look again. He promised himself that.
He stumbled back into the pack’s lands and found himself headed toward the communal den, the place where they all congregated. The quiet man limped to the clearing found the nearest tree and plopped himself on the ground. He looked over at the cave and then down at the ground. He saw wood scattered about and he smiled slightly. A warm fire, that was what he needed now. And so he began construction of an area for a controlled fire and then set to work with kindling and soon he was working on getting a spark to start the fire. That was the hardest thing of all, but he was getting there. Smoke and the scent of flames was deep in his nostrils as he worked the wood with his hands rubbing them as fast as his hands could let him. Once the fire lit he grunted in satisfaction and built up the fire more so that soon he could hear the crackling and pop of the orange flames as they ate at the wood and he moved back and smiled meditatively as he looked into the flames. Somehow this always made him feel better.
