He didn't understand Sky's words. He didn't ask for them to care for him if he brought danger to the pack. If anything, her words disappointed him. He would rather have been driven from the pack and left to die than to harm it by remaining. Straightening at the cripple's challenge he snarled, frame stiff as he rose to his full height. He wasn't a luperci. He could never be as large as them. His bulk in lupine form was much though, his frame taut with strength. He had trained to be a fighter. He had worked to defend his pack in every way, and now they would challenge him.

All his muscles gathered up, and he launched himself at the foolish wolf that challenged him so, attacking. He had stood up for this challenge, and Tharin accepted it. He was the gamma of the pack, as Sky said, and would not accept such subordination. He didn't even hear Sky's howl, focused on attacking Shaw and forcing him to submit. Everything that he had learned from Augustus came into play, his body perfectly balanced as he moved to hit him to the ground and force the cripple to submit.
