Levent smiled calmly as he watched the normally grouchy, reserved tom let the dog boy pet him. He predicted the moment when the cat tilted his head to let his favorite place on his chin be better scratched, and he knew that the spaniel should be able to feel Wilson purring even if he didn’t hear the low, tremulous little rumble. As soon as the boy went back to writing, though, the cat trotted back to the Turkish luperci and curled up happily in his lap, at ease now that they had company he didn’t consider a threat.
The writing pad was passed back to him, and Lev read over the words before thinking in silence. When he realized just what the pack north of them was, though, a brief frown crossed his features, and he hesitated before putting the writing utensil to paper.
