Zadkiel was doing as he had been doing for the greater extent of his life, wandering around without any real purpose. After all Misery had carted her brood around with her for awhile, between bouts of abandonment of course. Zadkiel had continued on with that traveling bug, rarely staying in one place for too long. But throughout all of his travels he continued to returned to the 'Souls area, much as his own mother had. But unlike her he had no one that he was actively looking for. Sure, he wouldn't mind finding Nox again but the girl had grown up to do her own thing. He had been closer to her than the rest of his family but they had been apart for so long he found that he wasn't missing her as greatly as he had when they had first been separated.
The male came to a river that winded its way out into the bay and knelt next to it, upon its eastern bank. His hands were dipped into the moving water in order to clean away the blood that was on them. He had licked and sucked away as most as he could but there were still the stubborn traces that clung to his fur that he had to get rid of. the D'Angelo boy used the sand from the beach to scrub his hands with to try to make certain that all of the blood was removed. He was meticulous in checking over his hands to make certain that he hadn't missed a single spot. And even though they looked clean he washed them one more time just to make extra certain that there really was nothing there.
As always his knives were close at hand, tethered to the outside of each thigh. He kept them in easy reach should he ever need them. And well he had become quite the quick draw that he doubted anyone could get the jump on him should he be able to get a hand to even a single handle. But right now he wasn't interested in that. His focus was on preening and making certain that any traces of dirt and debris were removed from his fur so that his appearance was pristine once more.
