[p]Changing Before his Eyes

It had been a long time since Helios and his sister had traveled from their warm home. Thinking back, he recalled that it was reaching their second anniversary from which they had left. Sighing, he surveyed the harsh country that surrounded them now. Jagged mountains sprung up around them, clawing at the slate gray sky. Not only that, but it was cold. The wind was worse though, cutting through his thick fur as if he wasn't even there. Pulling his arms close around him, he turned around to search for his sister. Aloof thing, he chided internally as a smile crawled onto his white snout. Pulling away from the edge he had been standing by, he retreated, feeling the familiar tap of the scabbard on his hip.

It was unlike him to sympathize over the past. But it seemed necessary, as their scenery had been changing so rapidly within the past months. This place seemed to be the first place that seemed safe enough to make a home in. There were many packs to choose from and all of them offered such different paths. Shaking out his stout body, he tried to rub out of the cold from his body. At this time, a thick cloak would have been extremely helpful. Mayflower had the right idea, she always wore their mother's old cloak. "Mayflower!" he howled, inconsiderate to the silent beauty of the surrounding ethereal scenery provided. He had noted it, and now had decided to ignore it.

At this moment, he was much more concerned with the state of his stomach which was woefully empty and growling uproariously. If he didn't what he wanted and quickly, he was going to go insane. Not to mention, five foot three of muscle was more likely to rage at an empty belly than five foot one of slender that his sister was. Groaning, he regretted not saving more of the remains of the deer they had caught more than a week ago.
