Ataxia was so intent on watching her snake that she did not notice her cousin's approach. Her back stiffened and her ears shot up when a greeting was given, though she soon relaxed when she realized who the voice belonged to. The young hybrid turned to face the D'Angelo woman, acting as if her previous surprise was nothing at all. "Hello," she gave a glance to her snake, but it was already returning to its top most perch upon the rock and would need sometime to digest its meal before moving again. Ataxia could safely say that Nagual wasn't going anywhere; her only concern when taking him outside is that he might get lost.
"So," she began, not quite meeting the woman's eyes to show respect to her cousin's higher rank, "How are... is your pup?" Although Ataxia preferred talking to dead silence, she was found it difficult to come up with topics after spending more than a month with just her snake for company. She went for the easiest one, the first that came to mind: her cousin's child. She held no interest in children in general, but she wondered whether the sacrifice had done its work and whether the boy was in good health.
