Suddenly, as if his mood had been projected onto the land before him, skulls and bones splashed with red paint began to pop up in orderly rows and patches among the brush like grotesque daisies. Dart's bat-like ears swiveled forward with curiosity, sending the silver rings that lined them into a fit of quivering jingles as they crashed into one another. A long-clawed hand rose to push the mess of charcoal mane out of his blazing eyes as he paused, bending at the knee to sniff around the odd decor.
