The fire popped and crackled as the rabbit cooked and the smell made the white male lick his chops without thinking. He had spent all day getting it together and surely when the lovely goddess arrived she would be thankful and want to spend all evening with him. That's what normal creatures did and perhaps even what humans do but Thorn had no concept of either and knew that she would find something to be angry about and he would do everything in his power to both annoy and console her. It was a good system and one such system that let their love to flourish. There were very distinct characteristics that the lady possessed that enthralled Thorn, it allowed him to overlook her flaws. Green eyes fell momentarily on Kaoru and Thorn wondered if he could ever "own" a creature like Izzy did. Despite having households slaves in a few places Thorn stayed in, he wasn't used to one always being around.
Not fond of his statement of lateness Isabella naturally objected but the Russo merely shrugged it off. "It's alright my love, I forgive you. We've all been late now and then." Tamping down a smile he crouched near the fire, adjusting the rabbit over the coals near the edge to regulate the temperature as best he could. The rabbit was a few minutes off from being done and the vegetables resting inside were almost there as well. Rummaging near the fire he pulled out the incense sticks and brandished them momentarily.
Standing and walking over he stood close, smiling as he let a hand drift down her face. "Made you a bunch of sticks added in some rabbit fat so they will burn longer. You can experience the Mother's fire for longer now." A smile this time, but not a looney grin, this time a sweet and honourable smile. A moment's pause before he seemed to 'snap' out of it and addressed the fire. "Rabbit and earth plants, smothered in fire." He did love her, he just showed it in a different way.
