He laid there on his side slowly coming into conscious existence. Getting up he groaned stretched and yawned, this being his wake up routine. The mottled disaster work of dreams and night time imagery slipped away from him. They never made sense anymore, some saw these as warnings and depictions of future events to come. Thankfully he didn’t, nor did he really care. Mido refused to believe in such nonsense as destiny and fate; life was everything they made it to be.
The hybrid dog stared out the only way in and out of their den. X’yrin had already taken off for the day, he wasn’t surprised though as this was pretty common place. Whenever he looked into her amber colored eyes, they weren’t filled with love. It didn’t take a genius to see that she wasn’t perfectly happy with the way things turned out. Sometimes the man himself wondered how they got where they did. Ultimately it was the decision to try and make things better, to strengthen ties and alliances. Maybe it wasn’t what she wanted in her heart but a logical move for others best interest.
There were no flames between the two, they weren’t madly in love. As her new mate he cared and tried to make the best of what they had, trying to move past the tension he could feel. He wasn’t certain if he’d jaded her somehow, or if there was anything he could do alleviate their relationship. He briskly left the den and followed her unmistakable scent. The rays of the rising had yet to warm the day and the grass beneath his secui paws was soaked with dew.
