It seemed as soon as the show started that it was over. She’d flawlessly killed the fawn, it last cry hadn’t carried far enough for those near to hear. He smiled ready to walk away, when a large infuriated male deer went after her bent on revenge. X’yrin had been slowed by the fawn’s lifeless presence. The buck had glanced her with its horns; her yelp sent a terrifying sensation through his body. He didn’t know the extent to which she had been hurt, as he couldn’t see the details. Concern, fear and panic that churned quickly evolved into anger and a protective urge. Unable to remain there he fled his hiding amongst the trees with urgency, acting on what he felt and what he thought. Adrenaline coursed through him, he huffed hard as he raced toward the deer. The fighter moved faster than he remembered being capable of and yet it seemed not fast enough.
His teeth were fully bared and claws ready. His mate stood her ground, ready to guard her kill as one with any sense of pride would. The buck squared off, stomping it’s hooves with antlers pointing toward her, ready for another go. Mido had no intentions of letting that happen. He leapt at the creature’s neck with all his might; the impact took the two to the ground. Entangled with the deer he let out a yelp as he couldn’t avoid getting kicked. Still managing to get his mouth directly on its throat he tore it. Futilely the buck gasped for air as it bled to death till it’s eyes were lifeless. He limped over to where X’yrin stood over the fawn. She was hurt and he wanted to find out how bad, he was no medic but he could do the most basic things. He looked at her, full knowing that she’d rather not lay eyes on him. How badly are you hurt?
