She growled, and stopped in her tracks remembering that little tidbit. He did know they were after him – and what if he was leading them straight into a trap? They needed to think outside of the box. As Gabe came towards her and rubbed on her leg, she realized just how tall she was to his Lupus form – and she wasn’t even that tall to begin with. So, she began to shift down into Secui in the middle of everything. She would still be bigger than him in muscle mass, but at least they would be on somewhat the same level.
”What do you think we should do?” Her voice was a little strained as her body was going through a big change. Her bones compacted down to smaller, wolfier ones and her spine readjusted itself in its new position. Soon, after a few moments, she was on all fours, but the transformation still hadn’t completed. She looked as best as she could in his direction while her body made the finishing touches on her shift. When it was complete, Axelle cracked her neck and shook the dust from her fur. ”Maybe he’s leading us toward a trap.” Just in case he wasn’t thinking like her in the current moment.
Axelle walked back to his camp, as she was off to the side almost back into the forest again. She eyed whatever he left behind – which was mostly garbage and bones. Stuff he didn’t need, and stuff she couldn’t use to figure him out. Her father was a tricky soul – he didn’t think simply. And she knew she needed to be clever in order to play him at his own game. The only problem with that was: what was his game?
