The heavy scent of blood at the borders had Axelle’s mind whirling. The scents were mixed together – Malakai’s mixed with blood mixed with someone who smelled familiar. She paced the borders snarling mainly to herself, stressed from what was coming towards her and the pack borders. The sound of rumbling horse hooves made her ears tune in, and her head swiveled to the sound. Kai was on a interestingly colored horse with a girl slumped over the saddle in front of him. She was the source of the smell of blood and the familiar scent.
When Kai halted the horse just before her, Axelle moved to get the girl off of the saddle. She dropped her dead-weight body in the grass before them. ”What is this?! What have you done?” The way the girl was marked told her that it was Kai’s doing for sure. It was just his style. The familiar scent of whoever it was, was all over the horse, and when Kai slid off the back of it – not so graciously – Axelle slapped the horse’s ass. The thing whinnied, tried to kick her, and then ran off out of the borders of Anathema to who-knew-where. ”Fucking horse…” she growled under her breath, but then turned to the two before her.
Axelle sighed looking at their current problem – the unconscious, bloody coyote laying in the grass. What would they do with her? Where did she come from? Who was she? She dismissed the problem, and stepped over passed the girl. ”Pick her up and bring her to my den – then we’ll discuss this mess.” Her tone was poisonous. She was pissed at Kai. What the hell was he doing when he went off on little adventures like this? Apparently marring female coyotes in his wake. She had no idea what had happened, but she would get it all out of Kai when they got inside her den. Hopefully, no one saw them on their way in. She didn’t need any more questions aside from the ones she already wanted to ask.
