Pertaining to the Hurricane 2012 Plot, Vinátta will be affected! Unlike some of the more unlucky residence of Nova Scotia, Vinátta will not be hit with the brunt of the hurricane and will only suffer the affects of the tail of the storm. Expect strong winds, torrential rain and some dangerous waves along the shoreline. The Hurricane will hit Vinátta in the early hours of the morning on September 23rd.
As we will be receiving only the tail end of the hurricane, Vinátta will receive little lasting damage. Yay for us! Below is a list of the damage Vinátta will receive. You are more than welcome to have these things happen to your character/their belongings/property!
- Flooding! Clearly being close to the shore, as well as claiming a portion of the Grand Lake, the torrential rain will be something of a problem for our woodland. The Barns will become flooded and being close to the lake, the Vineyard will suffer as well as the Gardens. Jordheim sits in a protected valley, but a few of the outer lying, shabbier houses could suffer from mild flooding.
- Falling Trees! The strong winds will be a problem for some of the trees in Vinátta. As well as branches, leaves and various other debris obscuring paths, littering the beaches and generally creating mess all over Jordheim, a tree or two is likely to fall. One of the more tragic accidents occurs in the Sacred Grove. One of the smaller trees falls, taking off branches of the White Walnut and destroying the Hrogr altar, much to Miskunn's despair.
As the Hurricane touches down in the south on the 21st, the northern packs will have some warning that a serious storm is about to hit and a likely guess at the damage it may cause. As such, Saul and Lilin will issue an order to the pack in the evening of the 23rd- to remain inside! However, there will be a few threads to participate in!
- Secure the Stables!! The hurricane would seriously spook the horses in Vinátta and therefore, they will need to be secured inside the stables. In the early evening of the 23rd, a group is sent out to the stables to shut the horses in, board up the stables and lay sandbags by the doors to prevent flooding.

- Protection of the Weak! While Saul and Lilin have issued a 'remain indoors and safe' order, chances are the outer lying houses will be flooded. As such, the pair open their homes for the women, children and weak. The Virdings' four-day old litter will be holed up in the Saulin residence, along with whomever else wishes to escape the damage. They will wait out the worst of the storm in safety.
