Secui | Carrying an elk-skin satchel for supplies

The Nomad’s presentation was embarrassing, she would scold herself. Practically too weak and beaten to stand even casually against the merciless rain. The pain against her back was nothing in comparison to the strain on her joints as they threatened to collapse under the extra weight. No doubt X’ies had been right, she would be damned to admit it to him; she shouldn’t have been out in this weather while already sick and weak. But calls such as these could not be helped, especially when it was one that called for aid.

Against the battering on her muzzle, the Nomad smiled as best as she was able in understanding. Though they were not in circumstances such as this, she could understanding the difficulty that came with the life of a traveler. Her own travels postponed in the past, seeking shelter with whomever was kind to give just long enough to stay dry from the rain. But how long would this last? Days? Perhaps weeks? The telling of her companions was that the sky was covered in darkness further than their fine eyes could see. Endless? Perhaps not. But certainly longer than a day at the most. However, such details could be dealt with when time allotted. For now, the pair needed shelter.

“Come with me!” she called above the violent whistling winds, lacking the strength to say anything more. Gently the nudged a front leg of the large steed forward to get him moving, then hurriedly took point to guide them through the storm. The detail of the great mountain was hardly seen against the blurring rain, but its impression against the paler sky remained acting as a beacon to guide the small party. What began as a fast march gradually slowed to a labored crawl. Hardly one step followed the other without it slipping in a muddy pool nearly dragging the female down into the muck…

…until her final slip was that of exhaustion and she collapsed in a small pool of rising water with hardly a sound.
