Una and I both fail. x_____x;

Animal instincts overpowered the rangy male, forcing him into fits of jumpiness and impending fear as the rains started and the wind first kicked in. He knew deep in his gut that something was wrong, and so he spent a lot of his time pacing, both on four legs and two. Talking to Udanvti yielded nothing more than a grim silence in answer, but the doe was consistently with him recently, and he didn’t know whether to be comforted by her presence or worried. It was nice to have her near, but recently the spirit guide had just left him to his own devices so that he could grow as an individual without constantly turning to her for help. That she wasn’t letting him out of her sight, and yet not answering his questions, did not bode very well.

His little hut groaned with the constant winds, but surprisingly enough it remained grounded. The placement of his home kept it guarded by some of the winds, and it seemed to be one of the newer, more sturdily built huts. He didn’t want to take his chances, though, and so he walked outside once it started creaking a little more forebodingly, Udanvti already waiting at the exit and looking in the direction of the town hall.

“Come,” the doe ordered, and he jumped and twitched before complying.

“Is that Simcha?” Unatsi murmured when he saw a grey wolf hanging outside around the village, seconds before a howl summoned the craftsman. He jumped again before following the man, knowing that if the Councilwoman wanted one helper she might need more. The reason for the help became obvious enough, too, when they reached the groaning Town Hall and saw others busy at work grabbing planks and tools once inside.

“Uhhh—same for me?” Unatsi said by way of announcing his presence and offering his hand at—well, whatever they were doing. He swallowed before noticing the pair of children, ones that belonged to the snowy firekeeper he didn’t know well, and then he crouched down to the level of the little trembling girl with an encouraging smile. He wasn’t good with tools, but maybe he could distract the little tyke from the storm.
