Neela sighed quietly in relief when she heard heavy footsteps pounding up the stairs behind her. Her nose twitched when she scented that it was Enzo following her, sniffing at the blood from his arm. Despite herself Neela didn’t feel guilty; Enzo had forced his way past a new mother and into the den where she kept her pups, to try and do that without expecting injury was foolishness, no matter how good the intentions. Enzo’s words were met with nothing more than snort and a quiet snarl, "Fuck you” she said, though the insult lacked true venom, "Make yerself useful and hold this” she said, gesturing to the plank. When Enzo did so Neela quickly unhooked a hammer from her belt and fished several nails from a pouch, quickly and expertly nailing the plank in place. If there was one thing being a sailor on a Luperci ship taught you, it was making quick repairs.

Neela heard footsteps behind her, followed by a half-familiar scent as the coyote that hung around Tony’s brother – she’d heard his name once but couldn’t think of it at the moment – moved around behind her, briefly passing her room to disappear into another. Thoughts of the unfamiliar canine fled her mind when the very familiar scent of Tony hit her nostrils. It seemed that her mate had come up from the basement – not surprising considering how he was with water and how flooded it must be down there now – but even up here seemed too damp for him.

Neela’s heart burned with sympathy for her mate’s fear of water but now wasn’t the time to coddle him over it. Instead she turned around with a ferocious look on her face, snapping out in an attempt to prod at Tony, get him too angry to be scared, "So ye just gonna let Enzo do all the work an stop yer children from drowning while ye cower upstairs then eh!?” Neela felt bad about the words but she would leave apologising for later, for now she needed Tony angry and able to work, "Get down ‘ere an make yerself useful, help Enzo.” Neela grabbed Tony’s arm and yanked him from the stairway, pushing him towards Enzo. She signalled a pile of supplies to the two and then set off at a jog, trying to track the next biggest source of water.

She found her destination alongside the soaked, grey frame of Aro’s friend – Roath, his name finally popped into her memory upon actually seeing him. He was tryin to hold back a board similar to how Neela had been and the collie jumped to help, throwing her shoulder against it shoulder first and fumbling at her belt for her hammer and nails again. "Hol’ it steady, I’ll nail the fucker in place” Neela growled.
