Word Count :: 521 OOC: Bwahahahaha making you all read a boring tale!! Big Grin

Jiva was extremely relieved to see his mate come into the cave and come to him and their child, he smiled at her and pushed into her nuzzle glad to feel her warm body against his. She mentioned a story and he smiled. “I think I have something.” He looked down at the kit sitting close to him and Drin; “It is about your grandfather. He use to live in lands harsher than this one. Niro was a young wolf once. He lived in a land full of fighting and eagerness to kill. His sister found a book, one that told her of a promised land and she convinced him it was real so they set out on a voyage. One by sea that would change their lives forever. Niro is not a seaman you see, so being on the boat made him sick more than not, but it was one night that got him more. It was a storm much like this, but on the water. He told me he didn’t know how he survived, the waves were so much higher than himself, and when they came down they cared little if there was a tiny ship in their way or not.”

Jiva took a pause for effect, not looking to see if anyone else was listening, he also needed to take a second to remember what happened. It had been one of Jiva’s favorite stories back when he was a puppy and it always gave him feelings of warmth at the end; “As I said Niro was not a seaman so what he knew he had to learn on the ship. They had lost one wolf in the flying seawater, but they had to make sure to keep their sail from breaking and that was hard. Niro said it was like trying to keep a fish dry in a pond. The waves came and came, and he did his best to stay aboard, though he swore once he did fly but for the rope around his waist. He said it was the worst feeling in the world to be flying in the air in a storm as bad as this one. But like all storms they ended, and not quickly, but Niro was happy to get rid of it. They only lost the one man in the sea but also another from a sickness the storm had given him. Once they were out of that storm a day later they were where they wanted to be, at least Niro and his sister were. They had come to the lands of souls onto the sands of Cour des Miracles where Niro was quite ready to kiss the sand.” Jiva said, a small smile on his face as he finished. As far as he knew it was a true story, but it was a relevant one to the storm outside. Because when it ended, as all storms did they would come back to their home and feel all the more thankful for it.
