Khaden was bored. Again. Well, not per say bored, but bothered, listless, and, in fact, did not go back home to Twilight Vale, despite being so close to Dahlia de Mai, where he knew Ember no longer resided. Instead, he stayed the night at the outskirts of Whisper Beach, finding some hollowed out badger den of some sort, and just pawing at it until he was satisfied. It hadn't taken him too terribly long in his secui form, and, shifting to his normal wolf figure, could fit easily amongst the hollowed out cavern.
It was particularly hard that night to be succumbed by sleep, as Khaden had tossed and turned his mind seemed to drift abruptly from one corner of his life and knowledge to the next. First, the thoughts of Ember, and who had actually done the damage, first on her shoulder, and next her broken arm. But before he could settle long upon Ember, visions of Naniko seemed to erupt, with her pregnancy and the rest of Twilight Vale. And with Naniko came Conri, with his snapped personality and twisted loner views. Conri led the path to Dhalia - the whole reason why he came back to 'Souls in the first place, to track down the femme and stop her from doing anything particularly harmful.
So it wasn't surprising at all when Khaden, in all of his confused stupor, picked himself up from that humid cavern and went to see the glorious skies as they turned miraculously from night to dawn. Bones cracking and and shifting from the weight he placed upon them, he finally jutted himself into a sitting position, watching the horizon in all of it's overcast glory. He didn't particularly know what the day held in store for him, but he knew it wasn't going to let him down.
