It was odd how a seemingly boring and monotonous act could calm one down. Recently Keldava had started polishing her sword her often. It was a pointless act; Keldava still couldn’t use her hand well enough to actually use the sword which meant that there was nothing to get it dirty! Still the repetitive motion was calming and helped Keldava deal with the refreshed anger towards her mother. As a bonus it seemed to amuse Devini; the kitten was perched on Keldava’s shoulder, peering at her reflection in the shiny metal and making mewling sounds that Keldava had started to equate with her equivalent of laughter.
Add the gentle breeze and scents of the pack flowing in through the open window Keldava was perched by and the dog-mix could almost be considered happy, though it was tainted by her anger. Then suddenly the scents coming in the window change, causing Keldava’s nose to twitch and ears to perk up; Rin was approaching. Keldava got to her feet, tail wagging and sword leaning lightly against her shoulder. Her steps faltered somewhat, ears drooping n confusion as she heard the anger with which Rin was calling her name.
Keldava threw open the door in response to his pounding, only to recoil backwards in shock and fall over, her sword clattering from her grasp to the ground, as he screamed in her face. Surprisingly it was Devini who acted the most, leaping from Keldava’s shoulder towards Rin’s face as the black and yellow female fell, spitting and hissing and scratching as she did so. The attack was brief though and as Keldava got back to her feet she saw Devini detach from Rin’s face and streak past her back into the house.
”W-What the hell, Rin!?” she exclaimed, keeping back slightly as she tried to figure out what the hell was wrong with her brother.
