His ears were laid back as she looked him over, as submissive as always. It wasn't as if he wanted to keep them here. He wanted to be with the rest of the pack helping in whatever way he could, but he just felt so weak. The Callow man couldn't tell Sidra that. He couldn't tell her just how awful it had been, being out there, not with the way she jumped at every sound. He was glad to be inside, safe, maybe not warm, but safe. Warmth would come later, though he was better off now than when he had been before. He was actually beginning to have feeling in his fingers and toes again. He wiggled the russet hued toes on his right foot just to test the theory, gazing over them with tired eyes. That was a good sign, he thought.

She was glaring at him, he knew she was without even having to look. Alister could practically feel her amethyst gaze searing through him. It made him strangely self-conscious and he worked on combing his mane into something more presentable, mussing it with his fingers. He must have looked half a mess, fur sticking up in odd places here and there, still damp from the rain, body partially covered by his patched blanket. But, come to think of it, he didn't look much different from the rest of the search party. His brown ears twitched towards her with the thought, hearing her voice sound, speaking volumes of her thoughts on their current situation. He wasn't all to pleased either. Besides, he wasn't eager to see the look on Aro's face when he found out. That was the most concerning. He wasn't afraid of the black and white pelted male, but he'd rather not have an enemy. Not here. Casa was his home now.

Alister wasn't as fortunate as the woman in his ability to forget so easily. For some reason that night was burned into his memory. He could still recall the sight of her as she lay beneath him, the smell of her heat, heady and intoxicating, the taste of her on his tongue. He didn't want to remember, even more so now that he knew she had someone. It made his stomach turn over in awful twisted knots, and he still felt guilty. With a rare glance in her direction he saw her gaze fall to the pendant, blatantly gleaming silver against his tan chest. He grinned sheepishly, realizing that it's presence didn't exactly help them, and tugged the blanket over it so it was no longer within sight.

Alister watched as she crossed to the door, tugging and twisting the knob without much success. Hazel eyes swept the floor, trying to appear innocent, his own ears fallen back. They twitched up towards the ceiling when the thunder cracked, and back to her. He saw her cringe in fright, wanting to cross the room to console her, but at the last moment decided it wasn't a good idea and stayed put instead. Amusement gleamed in his eyes as he watched her struggle between trying to pretend the storm's fury didn't bother her, and wanting to cower for fear of it. It was kind of...cute. It disappeared when she spoke, and his ears perked.

"Yes, I'm fine, tha--..." --nks for asking Her words registered mid-sentence, and he fell silent, immediately regretting the sarcasm that bubbled forth. "Oh...er...Thanks...thank you. I...uh appreciate that." A blush was searing under his fur, and his eyes fell, embarrassed. He bit his lip, feeling like a royal arse. As the storm raged overhead her eyes shone with the fear she felt, which only made him feel worse. "This building is..." he started. "pretty strong. It survived the humans. We should be safe here." Alister gave her a wan reassuring smile, though it faltered somewhat with the tension in the air.
