He did feel slightly relieved as she spoke a small giggle leaving her lips. Though she seemed to let him know that axes were not her thing, he shrugged and picked up a long twig. “Well kindling isn’t exactly easy to find unless you use it from a book, and there aren’t that many of those either, so I wouldn’t mind help with that.” Of course this was not entirely true.... it wasn’t THAT hard to find kindling, even with inches of snow on the ground, one could even snap branches from trees and dry them over an already flaming fire. No he just wanted a little bit of an excuse to help her help him. The attention was nice. He was use to it from others, but ever since joining he wanted it all from Drin first but she seemed inclined not to give it to him. This woman just reeked of wanting to do something, though not anything, to help in any way and his tail was wagging, curling over his back just at this small kindness.
Her answer to him was not what he expected and as she spoke of his birthpack he was taken aback, not many wanted to know about it and he noded; “Yes, yes it’s still there. I was born there. My father resides there as well. What do you want to know of it?” He asked and continued to pick up a few twigs. He might as well do something himself it wasn’t as if he didn’t need anything extra, because right now with what little they owned anything was welcome. Still being fresh to the pack and having moved from a pack who cared little about owning things Jiva felt like a hoarder just by bringing in twigs and stuff. He had to rememeber it would be for the fire that it would die away and be nothing but ash in no time, and just the thought of having a fire in the cold, it was comforting. In many ways he was not up for sleeping in the freezing den fireless. Something like that made things feel less like home, perhaps it was because of the fire that was nearly always lit inside his own home. Even during the summer, though he didn’t know why that was. He shrugged at that and waited to see what Rose had to say.
