It was about time, he thought to himself as they approached the border to a rather interesting pack. During his short time in Nova Scotia he had met several canines that had come to live in this specific pack. He placed his hand on the hilt of his sword and hummed to himself, trying to capture some of strength from his late father. On an instinct, he stopped before he officially crossed the border. In the back of his mind he had a faint recollection of procedures and necessities that a canine must maintain while joining a pack, or when encountering them in general. Helios had heard of their openness but knew crossing the border uninvited would be disrespectful.
A smile curled on his muzzle as he relaxed in the cool autumn are. It was pleasant day, the recent storm had unsettled him but when it had gone he felt even better. He felt a shudder run down his spine from sheer excitement, looking over his shoulder he called out to his sister with a jolly grin. "Well, come along, Mayflower! Don't get to do this everyday!" His smile broadened and he clutched a small carving in his coarse hand. The Australian Shepherd had worked diligently the evening before, he wanted them to know that he was skilled and worth the effort. Helios had even considered bringing a share of a kill he made but found that to be a bit exuberant for his tastes.
As he pondered at the border, he wondered what he was supposed to do next. Not crossing the border, unfortunately, was the end of his wolf-wildside-animal instinct.
