The scents of a red season were drawing closer. Dying leaves, hazy mists and swirling fogs, burning fires, old nostalgia of a time long gone returned to her, slipping in and out of her head like a darting snake, so difficult to capture. Old things - all old things. Her pack had been founded in the fall. She had grown up in the fall - memories that these scents brought her were all old, so old, to her.
And yet, she could still scent new things on the edge of her senses.
Skye drew her pups closer to her, although they were getting larger now, and wriggling about in her arms. Relenting to their whines, she placed them on the ground, where they ran and chased each other with boundless energy. The scent was still there - it was something that she did need to figure out, so she followed the new smell, indicating for her pups to follow her.
As she drew closer, the scents began to make sense in her mind; it was the scent of dogs, two of them, one male and one female. She broke through the thick undergrowth of the forest, helping her pups traverse it as well, until she found herself looking at the loners on the edge of the border.
Her bangles and necklaces jingled together as she absorbed their appearances; one was a soft shade of gray-blue, spots and floppy ears marking her visage. The other was a bolder color, and a bolder personality, she noted, taking in his posture as well.
"You are at the borders of Cercatori d'Arte," the creamy female said, her pups' yips punctuating her sentence. "I am Skye Collins, leader of these lands. What do you seek from the d'Artisan pack?"
