Jaden had no knowledge of his acquaintance as she entered the house after him, attributing the soft squeaking of the floor to the horrid ambiance of this place. His out stretched claw took hold of the blanket and with one smooth motion that threw a cloud of dust into the air, he tore it back.

Dust wasn’t all that came loose from the bedding.

With a sound thud, a scull from the bed of bones fell at the mans’ feet. He recoiled in disgust and horror at the round thing and placed one foot upon rotted wood. He stopped there and watched as the scull rolled toward the sagging center of the room. That was the moment Amy spoke up and startled him again as the already on edge mind imagined the ghost of whomever’s resting place this was taunting him. He shifted his weight to spin and face her only to have one heavy paw go straight through the floor. The rest of him followed even as he snarled in alarm at the would-be ghost. The floor gave easily under the Issum’s mass and he had a horrid moment of shock and falling. The break was loud and threw all kinds long dormant dust into the air.

The impact of flesh on the wooden floor below left him out of wind and disoriented. Slowly and in a slight daze, Jaden pulled himself to his knees and felt a soreness on his knees and back where he’d hit. He also reached down and felt a small-ish cut on the left side of his chest. It was only a handful of seconds before he realized what had happened. Amy was here. He wasn’t completely sure how to feel about that yet, but at least this place wasn’t haunted by some human demon. The skull which had initially surprised him sat not far off and seemed to grin at the fool he had made himself out to be. With an annoyed growl he slapped it away, hoping it would shatter wherever it landed, and moved to stand himself up.
