WC:: 644 - OOC Yup, Malakai's a badass but I think he's taken a shine to the kid :-) Points - 5.

Malakai watched as the female pup lowered herself just a little and flattened her ears, smal acts of submission to the higher ranking wolf, and he acknowledged the gesture with a light nod of his head. He had been expecting as much from the outsider - it was customary to show such signs to a member of the pack whose land you wish to enter. It was her reaction to his words that would really give him an indication of what this individual was like, what spark was within her. This pup could go either way - she could take Kai's words as a threat and cower down to the ground, tail between her legs, beg to be shown mercy and to be allowed onto Anathema lands, or she could answer with confidence, with the same spark that he held within him.

To his satisfaction, he discovered it was the latter. Malakai was unable to hide the wicked grin that spread even wider over his muzzle as the female before him answered that she would rip him open from within if he devoured her. He liked this one. She had fire in her. Like Axelle... No, he couldn't think like that. His eyes lowered from the female for just a moment - Axelle had been the centre of his universe lately, but now, she was so distant, so cold towards him. His body tensed somewhat - well, he didn't need her. He would forget her easily if he put his mind to it, he told himself. He had other things to occupy himself with now.

With the black males gaze settled once more upon the female before him, this youngster with fire in her blood, Malakai's predatory nature enveloped him still and he stepped towards her, sniffing the air every few steps until he crossed Anathema land and very slowly began to wander around the pup, letting his eyes travel over her form, as if inspecting her muscle structure, to see if she was physically strong enough to fit into the pack, to hold her own. As he circled behind her, his voice grew darker. "You would tear me apart, now, would you, Pup?" Every word was precise, well enunciated. "Such a puny little thing as you?" He was teasing her, taunting her, but more importantly, he was testing her. He was daring her to answer back, daring her to show him that fire, that spark within her. Yes, he liked this pup. Kai would be disappointed if she backed down, if she lay to the floor and tembled. He could see this female as part of Anathema, definately. In fact, he could see this kid being taken under his wing, so to speak. Malakai had carried a weakness for pups for a while now and after Axelle had told him she was pregnant, that protective instinct still flared strongly in him but now, he had no-one to protect. No litter of pups, and the way things stood, he wasn't even sure if he had a mate.

Kai snorted a little as he continued to circle the youngster, trying to frighten her, still testing her nerves - if anyone in Anathema knew that he was greeting a stranger on the borders in such a way, let alone a pup, he was sure he would be punished. However, Anathema was a pack of misfits, of rogues who more or less all had something of a shady past and if this female was wanting in, she would have to learn to deal with the darker elements of society. Like Malakai himself. Pack Torturer, one who enjoyed ripping things apart while they were still alive, who injured for pleasure. Axelle had tamed him for a little while and he had become soft. Now he was getting back to what he was, back to that darkness within him.
