Now that the terror of the chase was wearing off, Pascal could feel the bravery that had evaded him coming back. With it came the physical change in him- his chest puffed out, his shoulders relaxed and his head came up, ears standing up and mismatched eyes bright. He'd scared off the mud monster and the fact that he'd managed to do it without facing the monster had given him an ego boost that was visible to the other male. His reassurance caused a grin to the boy, a rare smile for a stranger. His growl made him feel better and he giggled as the golden male jumped slightly.
The male's reassurance that they were safe made him head shake happily from side to side and he pranced from one paw to the other for the moment. It was getting difficult to move, the air on his mud-slick body making the mud dry and crack. So as the man suggested they could play in the mud again, he gave a squeal of delight and bounded forward, careening across the mud and slipping once more. He hit the ground, as seemed to be his method of stopping at the moment. Using a slick paw, the boy tried to flick some mud at his impromptu play mate.
