Oak is clearing trails after the storm ^^

The hurricane had brought changes to the pack. Most were physical things, flooded homes and fallen buildings. The pack had been blessed with pups just before the onslaught of rain and wind, and he was glad to hear from his mother that none had been lost in the storm. During the storm he had helped to board up the stables, and after the male had retreated to his den, to eat and dry off before emerging once again to help with anything that needed extra protection. And though the storm had been over for some time, there was still many things that needed to be reconstructed and repaired.

Oak found that his axe would be put to good use, the fallen branches and limbs were plentiful and some too heavy to be lifted away without first breaking them down. Nothing would go to waste; the pieces would be carted to the pack’s center and given to his pack mates for firewood. It also served to busy his thoughts, when the memory of his departed friend crept back into his mind.

Thick arms brought the arm head down, a hefty swing that lodge the blade deeply into the massive branch. The angle sent a thick chip of wood flying into the air, and with a large inhale Oak steadied himself for yet another swing of the large single bladed axe. Cassia; the name came to him as he hit the log once again, had left weeks (even perhaps months) ago. She had given little warning before picking up and disappearing from the home that they had found together. It hurt... He hit the thick branch again, this time finally breaking it into two. And he still had no word from her, the scent washed away completely by the hurricane’s rain.

It had settled in, but the male hadn’t fully processed the loss of his friend and the feeling of abandonment. He wasn’t sure how to even do that, to allow himself to fully move of. Clearing the path of the fallen tree helped, emotions flowing though his arms and into the dead tree. Without pausing his tossed the axe to the side and grasped hold of one part and began to slowly drag it off the path.
