this carnival of rust

((Set mid-afternoon. Also, this is what she's playing only without the background beat, in case you were wondering!))

Ottilie had not been Anatheman long, but she had already settled in fairly well. Her caravan was parked in Thackary Village, blocks placed to stop its wheels and wooden 'legs' unhinged from their usual hiding place below the caravan to hold it absolutely steady. The cats were at ease-- Ringo barely did anything but lounge around on his bed of pillows anyway, and Chequers had immediately taken to harassing the local wild rabbit population. Three days they had been moved in, and Ottilie had already had seven rabbits with the heads chewed off brought to her door. And a pile of bloody sparrow feathers placed almost artfully on top of a rat. She truly had no idea what went on in that cat's brain.

Svadilfari had been stabled with the horses ofother Anathemans, and he had taken to it well enough. Since he wouldn't be pulling her caravan as often, Ottilie planned to use him as more of a riding horse. She didn't just want to leave the poor dear on his own all the time after all. He got on well with other horses and didn't make trouble, but she knew he got lonely without her.

Currently she was sat on the front step of her caravan, violin in hand. She paused for a moment, considering what to play. She eventually settled on a tune and began to stroke her bow over the strings of the instrument, playing a lively song and tapping her foot with it. The stamping of her foot got harder and louder as she got into the music, the thump thump thump almost being as much a part of the music as the violin itself. Mido had seemed to be unfamiliar with her mention of the instrument-- she wondered if anyone here would recognise it?
