Loki was bored of the room. It was a fun room, and there was always Ananse and Mama to play with but it was small and he had explored and smelt every inch of it hundreds of times over by now. Playing outside was much more fun, but Mama always kept them close to her so Loki had decided to sneak out and play.
It had taken a good deal of sneaking and waiting – something that was practically anathema to the energetic little pup – but Mama had taught him to sneak somewhat too well and Loki had finally managed to escape from their room. From there the trip through the rest of the large building was easy and soon Loki was bustling towards the front door, tail wagging furiously behind him.
The door itself presented an entirely different type of challenge. It loomed over Loki, massive and firmly shut, far too heavy for a small puppy like him to move. Loki’s ears dropped and he whined, scratching at the wood as though it would open for him. Obviously it didn’t.
Discouraged but still determined to go outside and play Loki starter prowling around the bottom floor of the house until he eventually found an open window. Some climbing on furniture and jumping later Loki was through the window and out to freedom! He didn’t have any way to actually get back in but that didn’t concern the pup much and he let out a happy yip as he gazed around the outside world, forgetting that he was supposed to be sneaking.
