Cracking his back with another arch, he shook his head and used one hand to comb his hair down, out of his face. “Your eyes,” he explained, lowering his hand and toying idly with the necklace he had not taken off since ripping it from his mother’s bones. “I can’t explain it, but they look different.” His hand fell to the ground, and his eyes remained on her face, waiting for a reaction, an explanation, anything.
