in laughter, in strife

Hehe, thanks. :3

He could hear the wolf whispering things to himself, things he could not really hear nor comprehend. His words were strange and thick, with too many sounds and more stops and pauses to pronounce the hard letters than what Barthélémy was accustomed to. Barthélémy did not think the stranger was speaking to him, but simply saying things (what sort of things?) to himself. He remained silent, not wanting to intrude, hoping the other creature would acknowledge him, approve of his presence.

Barthélémy waited, slightly surprised when the male looked up to see him. The stranger's gaze became focused as it lingered on Barthélémy's face for a few moments. The stranger did not say anything and Barthélémy did not think to say anymore more, either. The silence remained for a few moments until the stranger spoke, this time in other words. Barthélémy flattened his ears slightly, again, unsure what the stranger was saying. Again, the words were unfamiliar, and Barthélémy could not tell if they were the same as what he had been mumbling the first time, or if they were different. The blue-eyed luperci glanced around nervously, unsure what to say. He could not understand the stranger, and apparently, the stranger could not understand him. "Je m'appelle... Barthélémy Aston." He gestured toward himself with a paw and an awkward smile. Je suis désolé, mais... je ne comprende pas, je. Pourriez-vous parler lentement et clairement, s... s'il vous plaît? Je- je ne... parle pas... votre langue..." He grimaced, unsure if the stranger could understand him, but he attempted to pronounce his words clearly, without stumbling too much. He had hoped this male could help him, but he did not think that would be all that possible if he could not even understand what the other male was saying.
