light a candle -aw-

aw.

The ground was wet, sodden with all the rain the summer’s later days had granted them. It seemed like the sky was either letting them have it, or cast in a dark daze threatening them with another down pour. It was always ready, and at a sour glance was happy to give her what she had stared to despise.

The night was young, though with the clouded sky gave her no notion of the moon’s position. She had lost track of it phase, and at late had taken to ignoring it altogether, sure that it would just be hiding. And at a night as unstable as this, it was a poor choice to venture out into the middle of the night, and just for a leisurely walk.

What was supposed to be a small jaunt to the shore line had turned into, a full sprint, her two legs taking her across the plain as fast as they allowed.

It started so quickly, without warning, or a warning she as whiling to acknowledge. The thunder's roar filled her ears while she hiked through the field, hand lightly touching the damp tall grasses. It's cry caused her to flinch, eyes shooting upward to see the lighting dance across the black sky.

Each step caused water to fly up from below her, she slogged through the grasses and out onto the beach. Unsure of what was better, and open field or the shoreline Anu continued to run until she found refuge. The structure was well hidden in the dark, but with the light cast by the storm it called to her like the beacon it had been built to be.

sidenote: also, I’m not sure if this is before or after CD formation…
