For Savina

It was a shame that Alexey was too preoccupied to notice what a beautiful day it was. Her lean silhouette basked under the orangy glow of amber skies, fur color harmonizing perfectly with the setting sun. The Circee's mind was elsewhere though, somewhere far away from such a beautiful scenery. Various new cuts and bruises adorned her body, and once again, she was condemned to a few more weeks of limping. All of her recent encounters with Inferni had left a lasting impression on the tawny femme; she had the scars to prove it.

Her limbs were aching all over, but she kept on walking. Lexey had no reason to be this far south, aside from deliberately wanting to avoid her packmates, especially Cercelee. She needed more time to come up with a suitable excuse; an explanation to justify her recent assault on a female coyote. The Rosea was pretty open-minded, she knew that much. But how understanding would she be if Alexey's foolishness sparked another war between Inferni and Dahlia de Mai?

Her nose eventually caught the smell of several wolves in the area, but her mind was simply too preoccupied to realize it. So Lexey did the exact opposite of what smart people normally did when visiting other packs, and she stepped right over that invisible line marking their territory.
