700+

The scenery around him was such a heavenly illusion, hiding away the sickening and corrupted world they all lived in. For a brief moment every year, true colors shone through in crimson and brown. The leaves tore through the air and were left to rot on the forest floor. It would start soon, the death would swipe across the landscape and poison the cheery green that pulsed with life. Soon, soon enough. The chocolate Lilium did not let his shallow eyes impress him. He had spent half the day chasing after a hare that for some reason had been cursed with a striking white fur way too early for the season. Yet, even if it had been one of the easiest targets he had ever set his eyes upon, it had managed to slip away from him every fucking single time. It was unacceptable, and his day had been a waste and brought him far from Dahlia. He had not even been hungry, but an extremely foolish part of the three year old had wanted to bring a certain female an unique gift. Foolish, so bloody foolish. Only fools did such things, and he had just proved that he was one.

He should have spent the day marking the newer part of the territory and taken a look at the island, which he had decided was a part of Dahlia as well. Instead.. yeah, he had spoiled what could have been an acceptable day. A soft mist came creeping up on him, but Haku's nose followed his own trail back to the Flower Power pack, so eyesight was not something he cared about. Yet, as the fog built up a silver hued wall around him, he could not help get the same comfortable feeling he always did in such weather. He felt completely at ease. Sounds seemed to fade somewhat, and nothing was left but him, and only him. Bulletproof loneliness. The male's footsteps slowed down to slow motion as a scent, despite the wall of gray and an unusual lazy breeze, reached his nostrils, disturbing his planned travel route. He recognized it and wondered why the hell she still was here. He knew how most of them were. Ignorant fools wandering from one group to another, staying for a while, eat, sleep, whatever, then they left the pack behind without paying the bill.

There was a soft pressure behind his eyes. The male knew he should keep to his path and spend the rest of the day alone. There were certain ways to predict visitors, and he could feel a warm breath blowing the fur on his neck. Haku broke the straight line he had been walking in and followed the light and teasing scent. He found her eventually, sitting on the rock after a bath. Odd gal, who would take a bath in this weather? Haku had never had troubles with cold because of his arctic blood, but he would have thought himself that it was a tad too chilly in the air for a casual bath. What was Cwmfen doing here all by herself anyway? Why was she not doing something worthwhile in Dahlia? Same reason as him? He did not give a fuck. He was irritated because he had wasted his own day, and when the rabbit hunt had gone wrong after all those hours, he had been fucking pissed off, ready to explode like the unstable volcano he was. The worst part was that, after a while, he had realized that the damn little critter had merely been playing with him. It had not found sanctuary in any hole or tree, merely continued its flight with a grace its hunter never could obtain.

A few silent steps closer. Chocolate ears flattened somewhat and blue eyes took in the black form with the fascinating markings. She had triggered his curiosity when they first had met, and it had apparently not faded away since then. She was elegant and well shaped, and he could not help but find her attractive, especially with soaked wet fur clinging somewhat to her, revealing her shapes somewhat better. He loved looking at a female in the luperci form. Enjoying yourself, Cwmfen? He did not bother warming up his voice before speaking. He would not pretend to be in a better mood than he was.
