She didn't ever push him to the breaking point. Her smile always saved him, and he hoped it always would. There were times when he did fear she would disappear again. He tried hard not to think this way, but he'd lost Phoenix and Icarus. And he had never been nearly as close to either of them as he was to Firefly. Losing her physically, or (what was worse) emotionally would tear him in half.
Her words brought that proud admiration to his face. Skyblue eyes were bright with calme enthusiam; she did what he'd expect his twin to do. He was envious not of her rank, but of her sureness, her way of getting the things she wanted. But the boy knew he would never understand it. And that was okay. "...That's great... but I'm - I'm not surprised." He nipped her ear. "You'll probably just be running it yourself soon."
