The blue eyed brute was satisfied with the replies from the Dahlia members, and it put his mind to peace, if only for a few moments. To be honest there had been no surprise to hear that Firefly volunteered to border patrolling, and he knew very well that this could spice up parts of his days on the borders. Maybe it was merely wishful thinking, but Haku seemed to always be able to get what he wanted. A echo of a smirk touched his lips vaguely, and a blue gaze flashed to emerald before the moment was gone, and Firefly could only be left to wonder what she was going to face within the next few days.
The voice from the Rosea seemed to be distant, and announced the departure from reality. It was solitary thanks to reflexes that he caught the rabbit the ghostlike form tossed at him. Quickly he threw the meat over his shoulder and turned to the nearest tree, which thankfully happened to be located right behind him. A branch was stripped and the meat was fastened and positioned over the fire. The sub-leader let his eyes slowly touch every member, daring them to question his odd handling of the situation. To be honest, he had been experimenting a bit with preparation of meat in the little cottage he called home, so all of a sudden a simple piece of roasted meat seemed a little… dull for his tongue.
Obediently he offered the alphess the first piece of roasted meat when it was well done, but he did not take any bite himself, but gesticulated to have the meat sent around to the other pack members instead. He went on and placed threads of deer meat to the pole and held it slightly above the naked flames. Haku had never been fond of these social gatherings, not of this kind anyways, but he could cope, sit here and be the simple beginner chief for the evening. It was cool. |
