She had not expected this, and suddenly realized she was not prepared either. Music-wise she did not have to, but the guitar was out of tune. She nodded at the request, and as soon as Cer spoke of feasting, she grabbed her guitar case and quickly moved a few yards away. She did not want to sit among them and tune the guitar; it looked unprofessional. And Mew was far too proud to be seen doing that. It didn't take long, and when she returned, Cer was sitting among the others, shifted into her four-legged form again, looking quite a bit more at peace. Someone, Mew assumed it was Haku as she had heard his name spoken vaguely when stepping away, had roasted a rabbit and now a piece of deer was getting treatment from the heat. Obviously, seeing as Cer was the one chewing on the rabbit meat, the feast had already begun. Again she sat down with her feet in a position similar to the lotus, rested the body of the guitar on her thigh and started playing. A vague sound, a low hum came from her throat; a wordless melody that was calm and soothing, leaving everything up to the imagination of the listener. She knew that she was background music, but she was not background music to herself. The sound of her fingers plucking a soft melody on the three lighter strings mixed in with the crackling of the fire, and Mew quickly lost her focus on what happened around her. The music streamed from the instrument she held in her hands, and she paid no attention to anything but the composition of tones. If anyone spoke to her, she would shift her attention, but if she was left alone, she would sit here until everyone went and longer. It just worked that way, with Mew and her guitar. |
