lezbn It was funny how things worked. When you really wanted something, there would be no possibility of it happening, and if you desperately wanted to avoid something, you would meet that very person. That was what happened when one tended to leave everything to luck and chance. As if to spite you, chance would cackle as it did everything possible to do the opposite, like a petulant puppy. The Aufpasser would be mighty angry when he or she got a hold of that puppy.

lezbn She had not checked the borders in a few days, for Lucifer had been doing a fine job keeping up with his duties. Not only was he working as the sole Spaher, he was also helping the pack out a great deal watching over Fatin's puppies. Though she did not know the exact details of the affair, Lucifer and his mate Deuce had come to the pack to help Fatin, whom Tayui believed he was either related to or very good friends. Now, however, she had felt a bit restless, and found the urge to take a walk had led to a full-fledged border check. While she preferred to remain in Jaded Shadows in case something (anything) happened, it was always a relief to know that there was another Alpha she could rely on in such times. Reflecting on this, Tayui realized how well she was doing, how happy she was. It was a blessing, especially considering where she had began three years ago.
lezbn She slowed her pace, moving with caution and stepping carefully around the ice. The snow had seen frozen in patches, and some parts were more tricky to maneuver. She paused, watching as a flash of blue caught her eye. She descended down the small slope, moving carefully and trying to figure out what that had been. At first she did not see anything, but she realized it was another wolf's eyes she had noticed, for the other was almost stark white, invisible in the snow. "Might you have a particular reason for wandering so close to our borders?" She eyed the female, keeping a fair amount of space between them. She could never be sure whether a stranger was a joiner or a foe, and though nothing terribly bad had ever come of it, she could still not help but be cautious toward those she did not know.
