Is there an old man out there?

The new Lucifer was so vastly different than old one Noah was use to that Noah was unsure of how to respond. As a pup, the boy had hated him. As an adolescent, he had seemed to go out of his way to tick Noah off. And as a young adult, he had seemed to want to change but persisted in old habits. As a first time father, it left Noah rather bewildered and feeling like a complete failure. Noah knew he wasn’t cut out for raising pups and had giving up on ever having a good relationship with his cubs. So it the new, loving son was a bit unexpected for him. He honestly did not know how a father was suppose to behave in a god relationship.

Part of him worried that it was all a ruse and he was just being set up for something unseen. Yet he hoped with all his heart that the boy had truly changed. Noah wanted to be part of his son’s life but did not have a clue how to go about it. He did not want to mess the boy up again.

“Yeh did say it,” Noah said, reaching over and nibbling the fur between Lucifer’s ears. Maybe Noah had been in some terrible accident and now he was dreaming of all the things he wanted so badly. If Summer suddenly showed up, then he would know it had all been too good to be true.

“Yeh’ve done well fer yerself,” he said, leading the way back into the hut. He was still unsure of what to say or do. Lucifer and Charm were all Noah had left of Summer. He couldn’t bare losing them again.
