None of this made any sense. Even though her mother was sure that nothing would happen to them, Mati didn’t even know what a father was supposed to be to her. It was something important, there was a internal jolt that rang through her when she thought about it, and still she didn’t know exactly how important he truly was. But tears stung her eyes, and her fear was overwhelming.
Haven pushed her along, whispering in her ear and coaxing her legs to move. Round paws took steps, following the bright color of his fur and staying silent as she turned her back to him reluctantly. Violet eyes watching Haven, who looked so much like the man they had met, Mati followed wishing they were home already.
